So the whole purpose of this blog is to regulate my life and hopefully share tips with anyone who is interested.
What got me interested in losing weight now: I have been chosen as a bridesmaid for a friend of mine in her July wedding. I have the goal of being back in a size 16 by then, in reality an 18, but a girl can work. I am also going to turn 21 in September, and I know that I'm going to be partying at some club to celebrate. I don't want to look like this when I'm celebrating my birthday with strangers. I want to look sexy! fabulous! Have the guys tripping over each other to buy me drinks.
What am I going to do about it? Well have to take special steps to get there. I will start college classes again in a couple of week and I work every evening. Neither classes, nor work allow for much exercise. I will have to start with a strict diet. I know that realistically I have tried "watching what I eat" and I've just craved something terrible. Therefore, I'm calling this my life diet. It's what I want to eat and what I will train myself to eat for the rest of my life. I know I can ween myself off of food, I've successfully stayed away from sodas for a year (yay!). I just have to start one food at a time telling my body no until it just doesn't care.
My diet goal: eat as little carbohydrates and sugar as possible and stick to solely lean protein. I've chosen to go the no carb route because in my nutrition class I learned that carbs are the quickest energy for your body to burn, but also the quickest to be turned into body fat if not used for energy. Since I don't have much time for a steady workout and my job and classes require me to sit for hours on end, I know that I need a food that will make my body work to digest it and not turn into fat while I sit. I will stick to low fat protein, which doesn't turn into fat nearly as easily as carbs, and leafy vegetables. The plant cells have cells walls made of cellulose that are impossible for our bodies to digest resulting in us actually burning calories while we digest the food. (RDmag).
So that is my plan long term. My short term goal is to wake up tomorrow to a bowl of Post Shredded wheat cereal, stick to only 1 cup of cereal and 1 cup of soy milk. Then for lunch I'm sticking to roasted chicken without the skin in a lettuce wrap with some kind of dressing that I haven't decided on yet for flavor.
